Instructions for use:

Welcome to the State of New Mexico Environment Department Liquid Waste Bureau's Wastewater Treatment System Permit Finder. This online tool will assist you in finding the permit information for a specific onsite wastewater treatment system (e.g. Septic Tank).

  • Enter your search criteria into the fields below by which you wish to search.
  • Filling in fewer fields will increase your chances of returning a result; filling in more fields will return fewer, more specific results.
  • You can also partially fill in fields to broaden your search, e.g., "jo" in the first name field will find john, joseph, marjo, jorge, etc.
  • You will then have the opportunity to select a specific permit from among multiple search results.
  • You must enter criteria in at least one field.
  • Click the "Search" button that appears below the search fields.
  • You will be shown a new page that will display a list of the treatment system installations that match your criteria.
  • You can scroll through the list of matches to find the one you wish to view using the scrollbar on the right-hand side of the grid. You can also use the page controls at the bottom of the grid if there is more than one page of results to your search.
  • When you have found the treatment system you are looking for, select it by double-clicking the result row desired. This will open a copy of the permit if one is available for that record.

  • If no permit is found, try $removing some of your search criteria.
  • For example, if you entered the name, address and city of the property, try removing the address or city, or both.
  • If you still cannot find the system you are looking for you will have the option of contacting the local Liquid Waste Bureau officeIf you think the system you are looking for is missing from our records.
